Founded in October of 2003 at the Gay Men’s Health Summit, this group has been a focus as a source for gay men to meet in a non-club environment. The Spicy Dinner Group started with 12 men with an interest in hot and spicy foods attending a covered dish dinner; since then, they have grown to over 300 members! Each dinner now has an average attendance of 60-75 people and has become a social event that is looked forward to. Although the name remained the same, the dishes now being brought reflect so many different styles and tastes: from gourmet to casseroles, spicy to sweet, handmade to store bought, and ethnic to "down home." They meet one Saturday a month at 7 PM and the host and location of the event changes per dinner. People who wish to be added to the evite guest list should send their name, phone number, and email address to spicydinner@yahoo.com and for more information they can call Kelly at 801-688-4253.
